MWEA RESIDENTS COMPLAINS FAKE OF RICE BEING SOLD AS PREMIUM VARIETY

One of the worst purchasing experiences a customer may have is placing an order, paying for a thing, and then receiving a delivery of a completely different item. Be it the delivery of the incorrect item or a case of "what you ordered vs. what you received," where the product is of poor quality.

According to the current news, consumers of Pishori rice have expressed worries about the variety's possible adulteration by dishonest farmers who they claim blend two types of rice and market it as Pishori rice.
Many consumers like the Pishori variety because of its sweet natural taste, quality, and unique aroma, and its long grains and the fact that grains do not stick together after cooking make it a favorite dish that is usually reserved for guests at the high table during functions.
Due to its superior quality, it is also sold at a higher price compared to other varieties. However, several locals have remarked that the Pishori they are currently purchasing from stores is of lower quality than what they were accustomed to eating just two years earlier.

They believe some farmers blend Pishori rice with Komboka rice, which resembles Pishori in some ways but has a different flavor and is more expensive. It costs less. Meanwhile, farmers have insisted what is sold is pure Pishori rice therefore the jury is still out on the quality of Pishori rice making its way to households' tables.
